Cameron Bailey Makes the ATA All American Mens Team!!

In the short time Slanesville, (near Paw Paw) WV, resident Cameron Bailey, has been shooting he has amassed quite the resume. Cameron began his shooting career in 2012 breaking his first 100 straight after shooting singles only ten times. During the WV State Shoot in 2012, he broke the first 100 in the Singles Championship, then dropping two birds on the first field of the second hundred ran the rest for a 198 winning B Class.

Jack Gandee Tops 100,000 in Handicap

Jack Gandee registered his 100,000th target in Handicap on 8/12/2017 at Tyler Rod and Gun Club. Jack, an important player in WV trapshooting, has been absent much of the time at shoots in the last five years only registering around a 1000 targets a year while electing instead to participate in area Gun Shows where he buys, sells and trades. This puts Jack just shy of a quarter millon registered targets. Yes Jack, that's a hint to break that mark too.

Cameron Bailey Trapshooting Secret Exposed!!

It's no secret that Cameron Bailey is a Champion Trapshooter, but how does he do it! I found out by spending a little time with Cameron. I mean it's so simple I can't believe it's that simple. I'm skeptical but the way I've shot this year I'll try anything.
It's so bizarre that I can't tell you right now because I want to see if it works for me!
Stay Tuned!!! I'll let you know regardless!!

Who Is That Man in the White Hat

This is the first of a series of interviews documenting West Virginia shooters and their accomplishments. Our sport is evolving, competing with a myriad of other activities, with declining participation, and the rising cost of targets and shells, etc. I thought it would be interesting to get the shooters thoughts on the “Old Days” and new shooters perspective as well, so look for upcoming interviews.

Bruce Haislip Passes

I am especially saddened to learn of Bruce Haislip of Wintersville/Steubenville, Ohio. Bruce, in addition to being an ATA member since 1988, ran the cashiering computer for the WV State Shoot for many years. He supported the WVATA by setting up the system for the HOF shoot in Moundsville as well training several people on the 3S software one of which was me. He will be missed our thoughts and prayers to his family.

Dean Kemp Passes

I am saddened to learn of Dean Kemp's passing. Dean started registering targets in 1988 amassing 22,550 Singles, 35850 Handicap and 500 Doubles. Dean was a frequent scorer/puller and was known for yelling "Bingo" when all fives were shot on the squad. He will be missed.
